Mission EineWelt, el centro de colaboración, desarrollo y misión de la Iglesia Evangélica Luterana en Baviera, se dedica a promover la cooperación global, el desarrollo sostenible y el respeto por los derechos humanos, trabajando en conjunto con iglesias y organizaciones de todo el mundo. Sus summer schools, o escuelas de verano, son programas educativos intensivos que abordan temas como la justicia global, los derechos humanos, la paz y la misión cristiana. Estas escuelas ofrecen conferencias, talleres y actividades interculturales, con el objetivo de fomentar una comprensión más profunda de los desafíos globales desde una perspectiva teológica y ética, e inspirar a los participantes a convertirse en agentes de cambio en sus comunidades.
Este año la Summer School se desarrolló en torno a dos momentos de estudio. El primero, sobre el impacto ambiental en la vida y la teología de Martín Lutero, tuvo lugar en las ciudades icónicas de la llamada «ruta de Lutero», como Eisenach, Wittenberg y Magdeburg, en Alemania del Este. El segundo momento, sobre el impacto ambiental en la vida y misión de las iglesias en la actualidad, se llevó a cabo en Neuendettelsau y Nürenberg, sedes de Mission Eine Welt en Baviera.
Durante las sesiones y talleres, se discutió ampliamente sobre qué es la justicia climática y qué es la justicia en la Biblia (2 Sa 12,1-12), realizando un mapeo conjunto de la situación ambiental global y de las acciones de las iglesias participantes, desarrollando ideas para implementar los 17 Objetivos para el Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) de forma concreta en las iglesias.
Para ilustrar dichas acciones, se visitó un proyecto de vida comunitaria comprometido con el cuidado del ambiente y la defensa de la paz, recorriendo locales que comercializan productos agroecológicos, y presenciando una exposición sobre el trabajo de Mission Eine Welt en todo el mundo. Tras una caminata por un bosque, se realizó una memoria de textos bíblicos que hablan de la justicia, debatiendo acerca de las posibles acciones que pueden llevar a cabo las Iglesias para mitigar el cambio climático, como estrategias de comunicación audiovisual y técnicas grupales de educación comunitaria.
El pastor Jorge Weishein, quien representó a la Iglesia Evangélica del Río de la Plata en este encuentro, comenta que uno de los debates destacados giró en torno a la sostenibilidad de las prácticas eclesiásticas en este contexto de crisis climática. Resultó novedosa la evaluación de la huella de carbono de las actividades religiosas y la viabilidad de mantener templos históricos que, aunque culturalmente valiosos, tienen un gran impacto ecológico. “Este tipo de análisis nos impulsa a reconsiderar nuestras propias prácticas y a explorar formas de alinear nuestra misión con los principios de sostenibilidad y cuidado de la creación”, agregó.
La participación en este encuentro permitió fortalecer lazos con personas, referentes de iglesias y organizaciones diacónicas comprometidas con la justicia social y climática en diferentes regiones del mundo. Las similitudes en los desafíos que se enfrentan en contextos de pobreza y desigualdad ponen de manifiesto la importancia de la colaboración global para alcanzar objetivos comunes como organizaciones basadas en la fe.
Estos espacios de aprendizaje y reflexión resultan relevantes para el trabajo de la Fundación. Los vínculos, conocimientos y perspectivas adquiridos en la Summer School nos inspiran a continuar trabajando con mayor determinación por una sociedad más justa, equitativa y solidaria.
