Dos escuelas interculturales de la localidad misionera de El Soberbio participaron en una jornada educativa impulsada por la Fundación Hora de Obrar. La actividad forma parte del proyecto de reforestación de vertientes que busca preservar los recursos hídricos mediante el uso de especies autóctonas.
La Escuela Bilingüe Nº836 Tekoa Jejy y del Aula Satélite Yrapu reciben a más de 100 niños y niñas mbya guaraní del paraje La Flor. La semana pasada las comunidades plantaron 100 árboles nativos con acompañamiento de la Fundación Hora de Obrar, la municipalidad de El Soberbio y el INTA.
Para las comunidades mbya, la protección de las vertientes es vital. Mariela Fernández, agente sanitaria de la comunidad Yrapu, enfatizó que la escasez de agua es un problema creciente en la región: “hoy estamos muy agradecidos porque estos plantines ayudarán a mantener el agua potable, que es tan escasa en nuestras comunidades”.
José Bussiol, del INTA, explicó que “el objetivo es incorporar nativas para mejorar la captación de agua en zonas con vertientes que no tienen mucha cobertura de red”. Así se busca mejorar el acceso y calidad del agua en las comunidades mbya, que dependen directamente de las vertientes naturales. La reforestación también colabora en la regeneración de la biodiversidad local.
Hugo Torreblanca, docente del Aula Satélite Yrapu agradeció la iniciativa y destacó el compromiso de los y las estudiantes para cuidar los árboles plantados: “el trabajo no termina solo en la plantación. Ahora viene lo más difícil: cuidar estas plantas para que el día de mañana puedan contarle a sus hijos que esos árboles les brindan sombra y frutos”.
Por su parte Renato Sommer, director de Agro de la Municipalidad de El Soberbio, subrayó la importancia de esta iniciativa, afirmando que “el trabajo viene en conjunto desde hace meses. Hoy estamos plantando árboles en comunidades mbya y también en yerbales para proteger las vertientes”.
El rol de los árboles nativos en la protección de vertientes y la estrategia de reforestación de Hora de Obrar
Los árboles nativos desempeñan un papel fundamental en la protección de las vertientes y la conservación del agua. Gracias a sus profundas raíces, estos árboles mejoran la captación y almacenamiento de agua en el suelo, reducen la erosión y mantienen el equilibrio ecológico del entorno.
La entrega de plantines a productores y productoras locales, a escuelas y comunidades mbya forma parte de la estrategia de la Fundación para expandir la reforestación y concientizar sobre el rol clave de la reforestación de árboles nativos para la preservación del agua y mejorar la calidad del suelo.
Otro aspecto clave del proyecto Crece Selva Misionera es la articulación con diversas instituciones como el INTA, los municipios y también viveros locales que producen los plantines necesarios.
El proyecto, impulsado por la Fundación Hora de Obrar tiene como meta plantar 5.000 árboles nativos en la provincia de Misiones.
